As EVs take more and more market share many traditional auto manufactures will
be in serious trouble. I believe we will see some mergers to try and put off the inevitable, but if they cannot figure out how to profitably make EVs they will eventually get put out of business.

Most of the market still doesn't know that EVs have far less ongoing maintenance, and that the cost per mile driven over the first 10 years of owning a new vehicle is way less than most internal combustion vehicles. A $40k Tesla actually has a lower cost per mile than a $22k Toyota Corolla.
