There have always been teachers like that. AI is just today's boogieman.

My Junior year of high school (2005) my English teacher accused me of plagiarism in front of the entire class. He admitted he couldn't prove it, so he gave me the score I earned. It wasn't plagiarized, I just actually worked hard on it unlike most of my homework.
