According to the Sunday, November 14, 1982 edition of the Times-Advocate of Escondido, California, "Backup quarterback Eric Krzmarzick, a prep standout at Fallbrook High School, has quit the BYU football team. The junior QB failed to show up for practice on Friday. Krzmarzick had checked out of school and left Provo. No reason was given for his departure."

Apparently, Blaine Fowler was forced to burn his redshirt that year due to Eric's departure.

SDSU and Utah were still on the schedule when he quit, and he missed the 82 Holiday Bowl as a result. There is a linkedin profile of an Eric K. working as a real estate broker in La Jolla which claims he attended the Univ of Florida 1982 to 1985, but precious little else showing up in google. Hmmmm.
