My point is that the MWC is a conference that has, historically, been more than happy to screw its own members. They're not a good business partner, even when you're on the inside.

I think it's more than a little likely that the $20M bonus payments will end up being nothing more than the pretty promise that kept the Pac-12 from easily getting to 8 teams and kept the MWC together long enough to survive. Do you think those get paid out if the MWC doesn't win these suits? If they only win one suit? If they settle for less than hundreds of millions? etc.

But, even more than that, I think they are silly to let something as small as $20M be the deciding factor. Over a 20 year period, isn't it worth more to be in the right conference than it is to have had the promise of an $20M bonus payment?
