he didn't play defense when Pope commented on exactly that at least twice last year and there are a bunch of threads from last year talking about how chippy and aggressive he is and how it was always Knell getting in altercations with opposing players.

Somehow this notion took hold among some fans that Knell is soft - is it because he has a decent haircut and told BYUSN that he likes show tunes? He was probably our chippiest guy LAST year, it's not a new thing.
