it's pure Reagan. It's positive, optimistic, and hopeful. If you like Reagan, you'll like the movie. If you don't, you
won't. It's fast paced because it covers a LOT very quickly, so nothing gets very deep treatment. Definitely the weakest point of the movie. I mean, there was once an entire movie in development just about the Reykjavik summit. I STILL hope that gets made. But overall, it was extremely accurate, just very abbreviated. The low budget was also apparent in some of the lower quality CGI sets and effects.
I've seen it several times with friends and family and answered their questions in person as well. Some scenes are trying to show complex events very simply and briefly, so aren't very accurate as a result (such as their portrayal of the Able Archer episode in 1983...birds had nothing to do with it). Also, the 1976 Republican National Convention wasn't accurately shown, and I'm not sure why, in that case, but oh well.
