Oahu North Shore beaches are great. And Dole Plantation is awful and boring,

especially for little kids. Wouldn't even stop if it was right on my way (which is what we did).

North Shore, Oahu. Rent a house on the beach.

I think you could find what you’re looking for and be happy on any of the islands. My first choice though would be Kauai
