But Apple has just as good parental controls, way better functionality and reception too. Gabb had a time and place for us—like we’ll give our 6 yr old the Gabb watch now— but most of the group texts at school are Apple friendly devices so by the time they get to 5th/6th grade it’s almost necessary to get Apple if your kid doesn’t want to feel left out. And, not just from the popular kids or those you want to protect them from, but even the good kids.
