I thought. Here's why:
We're getting much less from Mag than I expected. He's a senior. He's been a starter in the Big 10. He needs to be more productive at least defensively, and his supposed strength has appeared as rather a weakness.
We're getting much less from Bosko than I expected. He's played pro in Europe. He's 22. It's a bit silly how careless he is with the ball. He's been lost in moments defensively.
The team defensive effort has been abysmal at times. There is no cohesiveness there.
Too many TOs. It's a replay of the problem from two years ago, when we also had a lot of new dudes. We all saw how that season played out. Guys just making boneheaded plays instead of the smart, simple play. You heard coach told the team in the first half tonight, stop trying to make the hard play, be fundamentally sound. Lots of teams have tons of new guys though and don't run into this kind of issue with TOs. I don't understand why this seems to plague BYU recently.
Kanon has underwhelmed in his shot selection. It's awful. Seems to have no clue how to use his strengths to his advantage.
Fouss, Hall, Knell, Demin, and Saunders have played as expected and Baker is starting to come along finally, but most of the rest of the team seems to be behind where they need to be. It's concerning. Only having those 6 guys giving us positive minutes won't cut it in the Big 12. We need more reliable depth.
