I’ve spoken with JT Gentry. He's not bitter. The Gentrys weren't impressed with
level of coaching for the OL at BYU. When Andrew was being re-recruited in 2021, Darrell Funk was the OL coach. Andrew had NFL aspirations and wanted the best coaching available for him. Coach Funk wasn’t an option because JT already had a year under him and knew that he was a mess.
I can’t blame them one bit. If I want to go to the NFL and my choice is Harbaugh at Michigan or Darrell Funk at BYU, I choose Harbaugh 10 out of 10 times even though my dream school is BYU.
