During independence, I didn't think he had great assistant coaches and that resulted in a mediocre program. Part of the problem was the budget. The last bad hire was Darrel Funk and that may have been a budget hire. I like the current staff, especially Jay Hill, Woods, Poppinga, Gilford. I like ARod okay but I think BYU could take a step forward if they got a better OC. You only have to look a Boise St. to see what a difference a good OC can make. Boise State doesn't have the recruiting ranking that BYU has but they are going to the playoffs. The Boise State OC is Dirk Koetter who has 14 yrs experience in the NFL. and was HC of the Buccaneers. He is getting $460K at Boise.
Can we get Kellen More or another OC with NFL experience to come be OC at BYU? ARod is good but isn't a top-level OC in my opinion. Maybe he will develop into a top OC given time. He is a hard worker.
