I'm getting to the point where it appears I may need hearing aids.  The concern I have is that recent advertisments for hearing aids indicate that new technology has lowered the cost while providing similar quality as traditional devices.  I'm ok with the cost of traditional devices, I just don't want to pay $1-2,000 when the new devices work just as well.  

Not just with the new devices, but since there are so many devices to choose from with varied applications and options, it makes it difficult to make a decision.

Anyone with experience in this area?
