I watched all 18 games at the high school tournament at PGHS last week and saw some great teams and players. I have compiled 2 lists showing my ranking of the players in the tournament with the prep school players in one list and the Utah regular high school players in the other.
Prep Teams' players:
1. Darius Acuff, 6'3 senior, IMG Academy, national ranking ("NR") committed to Arkansas. A do everything guard, shooter and playmaker.
2. Quron Elliot, 6'2 junior, Mt. Zion. Scored at will vs. Utah Prep.
3. Francis Folefac, 6'7 senior, Mt. Zion. Good comp would be Fouss, same build and has great hands. Guarded and neutralized Dybantsa in their victory over Utah Prep.
4. Kayden Allen, 6'6 junior, Montverde Academy, NR #26 class of 2026, good shooter and finisher. Very fast.
5. A.J. Dybantsa, 6'9 senior, Utah Prep, NR #1. Played well in first game, but did little the second game in a loss to Mt. Zion.
6. Anthony Felesi, 6'6 junior, Utah Prep. Very athletic, made some highlight reel plays.
7. Kaden House, 6'3 junior, AZ Compass. NR #14 class of 2026, good shooter and driver.
8. JJ Mandaquit, 6'2 senior, Utah Prep. NR #47. Solid playmaker, would love to have had him play for the Cougars. Committed to Washington.
9. Trent Sisley, 6'8 senior, Montverde Academy. NR# 92. Good 3 point shooter, smart player. Committed to Indiana.
10. Isiah Harwell, 6'5 senior, Wasatch Academy. NR # 14. Good athlete, strong finisher. Committed to Houston.
Utah High School players:
1. Crew Fotheringham, 6'8 sophmore, Lone Peak. Excellent 3 point shooter for his age and size.
2. Andrew Miller, 6'4 senior, Springville. Very athletic and good 3 point shooter. Much better player than the 3 you hear about. Committed to UC Irvine.
3. Noah Bendinger, 6'4 senior, Corner Canyon. Shot the 3 very well in both games he played. Committed to Boise State.
4. Chamberlain Burgess, 6'8 senior, Orem HS. Looked like a good all- around player. Good shooter/rebounder. Committed to BYU.
5T. Will Openshaw, 6'9 junior, Timpview. The only effective player for TV the first game. Rebounded and shot well inside.
5T. Jax Allen, 6'4 senior, Orem HS. Good scorer in all three areas. Plays hard. Committed to Utah State.
