Aren’t most of the 18 displaced players going to be walk-ons?
Rosters go from 123 to 105, but all 105 are now on scholarship (rather than 85 like before).
I think it actually makes a talent migration upward more likely, as teams have more scholarships to give away than before. Seems like the primary losers will be the FCS and lower level G5 programs who were up until now able to offer a kid a scholarship when maybe he would only be a walk-on at the high G5/P4 level.
