We’d be so far out of everyone’s minds that we’d be barely cracking the Committee’s rankings by now. I don’t think it would’ve made a big difference; we’d be ranked about the same.
The wins over SMU, Kansas State, and Baylor were huge in getting us in the rankings as early as we did. We had to overcome the bias of being picked in the bottom four of the Big XII. Early losses would’ve cemented that mindset among the voters and media.
