I think we have to also acknowledge that, like grade inflation, star inflation is a thing that happens when
recruits visit lots of camps at great expense. Often times this gives evaluation agencies an imperfect view of what is out there, where only the more wealthy or connected athletes are getting evaluated at the expense of other athletes that may be better but less connected. This can conversely lead to misplaced expectations when those high star (by inflation) recruits arrive on campus.
Not saying that is the case of Bowers here, but just noting it's not worth getting angsty just because high star recruits leave over lack of playing time. We all know there there plenty of unevaluated kids that do well, and a more than a couple high level recruit kids that don't translate to the college level.
I'd have to defer to the coaches on this one, and it is telling that this kid did not break even the 3 deep.
If he becomes a star somewhere else, good on him.
