What industries do you see being disrupted by AI/automation within 10 years?
The linked thread got me thinking about industries that are likely to be disrupted or displace most workers in them. I think these are the first low hanging fruit:

  • Customer Service (some say Turing test has been passed, others say another 5 years maybe)
  • Transport (autonomous truck rigs)
  • Taxi/Rideshare (autonomous vehicles)

I see other things happening with computer vision and automation that seem to be evolving quickly. Here are some robots folding laundry:

What does that mean for the service industry? The retail industry?

How many people will get out of the truck when a landscaping crew comes through our neighborhoods?

I can't imagine what the implications for several other industries are if Tesla's Optimus or similar robots continue to refine their capabilities.
