I really, really like Kody as a person and wish him immense success on his next team. He’s a GREAT young man. His full embrace of what BYU is, on and off the field, meant a lot to me as a fan.
His explosion in 2022 (particularly against Notre Dame and Arkansas) showed he had the ability to be special. Unfortunately, he just couldn’t stay healthy and realize his full potential.
I think Kody sees the writing on the wall that he wasn’t going to play next year, healthy or not. We have some extremely talented young wideouts who are going to breakout next season with Roberts and Lassiter moving on. JoJo, Hagen, Kingston, McKenzie… plus a veteran coming back like Keelan Marion who has the chance to be a senior star.. Kody just wasn’t going to be a factor next year.
Best of luck to Kody!! Once a Cougar always a Cougar.
