I’m paying someone to come hang our Christmas lights. We have a really steep pitch on parts of our house and it’s about 25 feet off the ground and nothing but concrete below. I’d rather pay someone to come do it since I don’t want to fall or have my wife fall and get injured and I don’t have a ladder tall enough to reach it without getting on the roof.

I got a couple quotes off people from thumbtack, received two that were pretty fair and obviously I just went with the lowest cost. The guy just called me and said since we are further than an hour away from where they are based from it will be $50 dollars more hope that’s okay we are heading out now. They called and confirmed our address a few days ago. He texted me yesterday asking for the address and I sent and he acknowledged it, so it’s not like they didn’t have this information.

So my question is, do I say something to him about the lack of transparency and that I don’t really want to pay more than what was quoted? Do I just let it slide since it’s only $50 and he does have to drive an hour and half to get here?
