They lost fans but not the product. What I mean by that is the NBA isn't suddenly going to lose teams because things are failing and struggling, and the fans don't care about what the current product is. So the NBA will make the necessary changes and the fans will return in 3, 5, 7 years and the league will thrive again.
The problem with College Football is that we are going to see the product start to disappear. We are going to see schools fold up their programs and call it a good run. When enough start to do this, there is no changing course and everything returns back to normal or the way it should be... like he said, there are more fans collectively at the smaller schools than there are at a single big school... when you lose the smaller school fans, they aren't going to go start cheering for Texas or Ohio State... they just don't care anymore and tune out.
So if College Football doesn't immediately fix the problem that it's becoming... there is no turning back, it's ruined for good.
