I’ve seen several hits in BYU games this year that looked a lot like unlucky tacklers who clearly aim for a legal tackle and then the ball carrier drops at the last second putting their head directly into the path of contact.
Sure, it looks bad at 25% normal speed, but it’s typically much harder to blame the tackler when you see it at normal speed.
Needs to be more allowance for this situation by officials, and much more coaching to ball carriers not to do stupid things that are likely to cause injury.
