Maybe it will be talked about among the great ones, and they’ll bring the players back and do BYUTV shows about them in the offseason.
But I think they’ll be remembered as the team that got a flat tire a mile from the gates of the promised land. Achingly close to doing something novel and epic in Provo, and they literally beat themselves. Kansas didn’t beat BYU. BYU did.
The special teams were incredible this year. The defense marvelous at times, stingy almost all the time. The offense was great in parts, mostly complimentary. I think without the Jay Hill influence on this team, it’s probably a 7-5 year. If Hill leaves, next year will be a close to that.
