A ball moves when an unbalanced force acts on it
For example, gravity will move a ball downward out of an unmoving hand above it. Just let go of the ball and it will drop.

Similarly, if the ball is made of iron and a magnetic force acts on it, the magnet will attract the ball toward it.

You can think of any number of forces that could move a ball from a motionless hand.
