It gives advantage to teams with 5 home games and 4 road games this year. All 4 of the teams who tied for first had 5 home games. Next year will be more difficult for all of them with the parity and having to try and win an extra road game.

As an aside, Kansas had the most difficult schedule this year with 5 total and road games at top teams.
