for tight ends in ARod's offense. Given all the amazing tight ends we've had in BYU's history, the fact that Isaac set that record, even after experiencing a drop off in performance after his horrific injury shows that ARod does not ignore tight ends. Why aren't our TEs getting more touches now? Because they aren't very good. When we have good tight ends, they get the ball more.
Why did Utah's tight ends get so many this year? Because their wide receivers were garbage. When you have terrible wide receivers and good tight ends, of course your tight ends will get the ball more. Utah had one of the absolute worst offenses in all of college football this year. They were ranked #118 out of 134 FBS teams and you guys want to emulate that offense? For real? You're arguing that we should try to copy Utah's success on offense by throwing it more to our tight ends?
Our offense has its struggles, but not throwing to tight ends isn't our struggle. Our offense is ranked #45 in the country right now. We would be higher if we had better o-line play and better blocking from our tight ends. But all these claims that ARod ignores tight ends is demonstrably false. Isaac Rex showed that if you are a playmaker, you'll get the ball. This year Lassiter, Roberts, and Marion have proven to be better playmakers than our tight ends. It's really as simple as that. I'm honestly not sure why some of you keep complaining about this point.
