the x-post and your post are over-dramatic. He didn't purposely get a 3 second
call, he was moving out of the key and almost out when the ref decided to blow the whistle.

It was a tie game in an NBA game with 5 minutes left, meaning each team had 12 to 15 more possessions before the game was over. So not even close to a game-deciding play.

To me the story of that clip is why are NBA refs suddenly deciding to be strict 3-second hall monitors? Gobert was in for 4 to 5 seconds when he was called and he was on his way moving out when the ref blew the whistle.

Is that common for NBA refs to call the 3 second violation so strictly nowadays?
