Too many upsets occur in late-season rivalry games, and we already have seen how the CFP powers that be will punish those kinds of losses, unless they happen earlier in the season.

A midseason rivalry week would generate nice TV interest, and there will be enough compelling storylines and season-standings implications to potentially carry some of that interest into the second half of the season.
