The ASU students I think were just being silly student fans and probably don’t even follow college football all that much.

Think think they generally knew BYU was having a good year and everyone form the ASU side wanted to win the game and knock BYU down. I think that’s normal.

And there’s always a portion of fan bases in the western US that want to beat the goodie goodie Mormons. If one were to sit down and have a conversation with them I think for the most part they don’t care *that* much about religion or BYU. It’s just part of culture for better or worse.
