They beat Houston and somehow get into the CCG and win. However, they are still ranked below Boise and end up with a first round road game at Oregon who loses to Ohio State in their CCG. BYU pulls off the shocker in Eugene and makes it to the quarterfinal where they beat ND. They finally run out of steam in a close contest to Ohio State in the semifinal.
