about more than just obedience?

The concept of it becoming a commandment later, is contrary to what God came down to earth and actually said. How many cases in scripture are there where the opposite of what god said becomes the rule?

So I don’t think the whole purpose is obedience to a commandment

If you were to tell me that the purpose is to obtain mastery of our bodies and such mastery makes us more like god, then I could sign on to that (though I’m not sure the current interpretation of the WoW really helps us accomplish that)

I just don’t buy that god has given us a commandment that is full of contradictions and is completely different today than what god provided in scripture just so we can prove our obedience
