It doesn't happen on every movie. Just some. If HBO Max still has any of
Eastwood's spaghetti westerns, try watching one. The opening credits will run off the screen.
It's not just old movies, either. I started watching one made within the past decade, but had to stop when I noticed the distorted faces.
I suspect that the problem is with the content that Warner Brothers brought to the merger.
