My wife went to her niece's HS graduation and there were like 45 kids who had
a perfect 4.0 GPA through all four years. This was a big Utah County HS, but still pretty ridiculous. I went to a big high school in CA and there were a couple 4.0 kids and that was it, and there were a ton of super smart kids at my school.
