Good perspective. Time to also consider that if we expect BYU QB to put up
numbers like Beck, Hall, Mangum, Hill and Wilson every year, then you're talking about having a Heisman candidate every year now that BYU is P4 and the schedule is much tougher.

In 2008 Max Hall's BYU went 10-3. Their offense hummed, especially against UCLA (59-0). They scored in the 40s four times, in wins against Northern Iowa, Wyoming, UNLV and Colorado State. Against the other four future P4 teams? Beat Washington 28-27, and lost to Utah (24-48), TCU (7-32) and Arizona (21-31).

It's always frustrating to see the offense sputter when the defense is doing really well. I felt that way when Ziggy and Van Noy were playing. But fielding an offensive unit that regularly scores 35 against P4 opponents will take talent that BYU has never seen before. Seems like you would at least want to give the offensive staff the chance to recruit as a P4 team for a few years before making any big changes.
