like the indoor ski resort or their theme parks(I've heard the water park is awesome though)....but they're really only interesting in context. I'm in the middle of a big city in the desert and I'm sliding down a fake snow hill....ok, cool. But you could take a sled to Rock Canyon park in Provo in 2 weeks and have a much better experience. Lagoon is much better than their theme parks. They do have standout show piece buildings but a lot of the city is just generic Miami looking skyscrapers with nothing going on at street level, etc. I think Vegas is much more interesting. Like I could spend days upon days walking through Vegas hotels even ignoring the Casinos. Dubai's nice, but I don't think you're as tempted to walk into every building there.
But obviously it is a super nice place where they are trying a bunch of things and constantly building things so it is similar to Vegas in that way: Great hotels, great restaurants, great airports. And most importantly, it's a functional place. They don't have people blocking roads constantly screaming about nonsense or harassing you on the street or whatever. Or smelling like Marajuana. Driving is awesome in the UAE, especially a little out of the cities and on the sand. It just feels like a very inorganic place though.
