have a top 20 (or even 25, maybe 30) brand, so we're automatically seen as "lesser" compared with the other conferences that have top brand teams. It sucks, but it isn't about to change. It appears the SEC, Big10, and to a lesser extent, the tv networks, have no problem trying everything to demote the Big12 even further.
