misconstrued without knowing what the question was that he’s responding to. I think people wanted to talk about the pre mature rushing the field and he didn’t want that to overshadow everything else about the win—he wasn’t trying to disrespect BYU. I also think he is so much a fan that he’s trying to give a recruiting pitch during the press conference with all of those other things he said. He not trying to disrespect BYU, but he’s in his 30’s and he sees everything through the lens of his team, his recruiting message (trying to pump recruits up to see that they want to be at ASU), etc.

Having said all that, while I don’t believe there is anything in his postgame press conference comments for BYU fans to find offense in, he’s young and his immaturity is on full display. It will rub opponents the wrong way (even though it’s not directed at them) and the patience of his own fanbase will be shorter if he isn’t winning—it’s only okay if he’s winning.
