I change tires about every 3-3.5 years. I use Michelin Pilot Sport 4s tires on the car, which are pricey, but they help the car hug the road.

I actually bought the lightly used Alpina B8 in your neck of the woods this past summer at Grapevine BMW. I’d been looking at getting an M8 for a while, and I had been keeping an eye on what is out there lightly used. I was talking to a friend of mine who had just picked up a brand 2024 new 550i, and he had been looking at the M5. He said something that stuck with me. He said, “2 days a week, I really want the M5, but during the rest of the week, the 550i works better and is more comfortable for me.”

I got his point, and he then told me his dad had just gotten the Alpina B7. He said his dad loved it so much because it was much more of a drivers car than the standard 7 series.

That convinced me to start looking at the B8 as an option as well. The thing I was looking for was an M8 in the 8 series release color Barcelona Blue. I ended up finding a B8 in the Barcelona Blue with all of the features I was looking for outside of the highest trim seats (the ones I got are good, just not the best). The only other downside was black leather interior, where I wanted the Silverstone leather interior, but when you are buying lightly used, you have to make exceptions and the exterior paint color was much more important to me.

My dad, who lives in Fairview, ended up going over and test driving the car and checking it out for me. He called me and said if the price was right, I needed to buy that car. I had already negotiated the price, so I did. Picked it up the day before my birthday.
