mission. Well, I'm not sure that that would exactly "feel right" after what happened in the 1st half. Perhaps it was a joke about the hymn, but it didn't seem so, and that would be odd, TBH. I'd think doing more of a "Jesus in the temple with the money changers" thing would be more appropriate after that 1st half.
Not saying you have to do a Tyler Batty, and blow out a string of obscenities like Ralphy on a Christmas Story (great funny scene), but maybe looking past that to something deeper. Being authentic and having integrity in the moment, is just as correct of a principle as being emotionally in control, and using proper language. More so, IMO. The are just words in the end, and whether they are "offensive" is not always uniform across cultures and over time.
Regardless, I think authenticity is a key part of integrity, and having integrity is a much higher principle than "not swearing" IMO. That makes me be less shocked, and less judgemental about Batty's apparent tirade. And the defense mostly did their job in the second half, which was a noble response for their teammates. Do your part for your teammates, and giving effort / being there for people. That is a principle with more import than whether or not you swear in the locker room, IMO.
I think it's important to remember not to get to focused and judgemental on things like swearing, modesty, piety, and word of wisdom as things that define BYU, over higher principles like integrity, respect for the agency and dignity of others, and tolerance / forgiveness of others' shortcomings.
