Yeah. Coach Arod has hit his ceiling, similar to how he has performed in previous years and stints as OC. He is an average OC and can have success when accompanied by a good or better defense. He is not going to take BYU to the next level - from a play calling perspective, player development perspective, or a recruiting perspective. Coach Fesi, while limited, has had success at a lower level as an OC. Wide Receivers are a well recruited position - which shows a good correlation to Fesi being a decent recruiter. Lets empower him to go into recruits households and tell a complete story about how they will be integrated into the offense, while at the same time allowing BYU to have a dedicated coach and recruiter focus on QBs.
As far as QB Coach candidates, I think almost anyone who could dedicate the entire time as coach and recruit QBs would be better than our current arrangement, where an average OC is splitting time between roles.
In a perfect world, BYU would go after a proven OC. However, given how early the December recruiting cycle is in comparison with the end of the season, I don't think that BYU will be able to go after the top tier candidates because we will be busy, hopefully, in a conference championship game and planning for the playoff.
