20% of students are slackers from the Midwest who want to party and get out of the cold.

The other 80% are AZ kids who live at home and are usually rolling in for two years after doing two years at a Maricopa County community college. Lotta kids on 7-8 year plans down there.

My grandpa earned two degrees there and then told my dad to go to byu instead. And that’s when byu itself was basically a community college.

Lotta AZ folks (including many LDS folks) view byu folks as uppity. BYU folks usually ARE uppity, because ASU is a dogyewt school.
