There were so many things that should have been flagged, but the refs were definitely intimidated. Watch the video, as the ref tries to just watch the monitor. There are fans with phones out recording him and the screen, yelling in his face and ear, threatening him, all the while this coach is right next to the ref, screaming belligerently, as part of the mob. How is there not an unsportsmanlike conduct for not giving the ref space? How is there not a delay of game?
Mark Harlan ran out on the field of play during the final play, and he, rightfully, got a flag. So the entire team and coaching staff out on the field doesn’t necessitate a flag for delay or illegal substitution? What about the intentional grounding, which would have placed BYU at the point of infraction/pass? BYU should have gotten a better spot, along with a single untimed down, after ASU committed the P.I. and facemask on final play.
