This is what the Utes have done well in the past. Suffocating defense + conservative/turnover free offense= wins. It hasn’t worked well this year because of all the injuries they’ve had.
I just don’t think this is BYU’s identity. The offense seemed to light up with the 2nd half up tempo offense. I’m surprised this wasn’t tried before to gain momentum when the offense was stagnant. (Against Utah or Kansas) It also solves some of the time management issues we’ve had. Not asking for go fast go hard. Just a change in tempo sometimes.
I thought we got off to a bad start by a poor coaching decision. Go for it on 4th and 5 from midfield when your offense hadn’t shown much?
One last thing. I’m not sure what our running yardage was, but I bet it was bad.
