With likely never seriously competing for a conference championship.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Kalani as a PR guy and he is a decent coach. But he will never be a coach that constantly has us competing for a conference championship. We get out recruited every offseason and out coached every season. (With the exception of Jay Hill with both coaching and recruiting)
We go 5-7 last year, then 10-2 this year (with lucky wins against OSU and Utah) and next year probably 8-4, then 7-5, then 9-3 and the cycle continues. Mediocrity is who Kalani is as a football coach.
If you want to keep Kalani, then you are happy with constantly being a little better than average.
