any luxury brand was significantly cheaper than the budget brand. (A suburban would go for a few thousand more than an escalade, which was crazy, I guess it's because many Utahns like to "keep up with the Jones" and back then you wouldn't be caught dead in an escalade, but needed a suburban since everyone had one).

That value buy doesn't seem to be there anymore like it once was in the early 2000s.
