He didn't like BYU.

I don't know what he was like, but as I recall, he had a lot of negative things to say about the BYU school culture (honor code enforcement, etc.). And I don't think he felt like his BYU coaches were giving him the playing time he deserved.

He left BYU with a sour taste in his mouth.
