A friend of mine went on a Mexica cruise a couple of weeks ago. Two days in his wife gets very ill. Dr tells her it is a severe Gaul bladder attack and she needs to have it removed. Docked in Puerto Villarta and to the hospital. She has the surgery. As soon as she could travel they fly home.
Ship wouldn’t let them get off to go to the hospital unless they pair their $7,000 bill for care. Hospital charged $12,000.

Question- is there travel insurance that could cover this?
I might never get my wife on a cruise after this.
