Your "except for this weekend" point is exactly the kind of scenario I've been thinking about a lot lately. An Iowa State loss is good for BYU in the conference standings. But, just as it was last week when Utah played Colorado, it is incredibly difficult for many BYU fans to wish a victory for the University of Utah. Again, absolutely no judgment here from either angle, I'm just curious to see how most approach situations like these.

I'd assume many will say (and I kind of take this approach), "I mainly care that BYU beats ASU this weekend. If that happens, it doesn't really matter what happens with the Utah-Iowa State game."
