AJ Dybantsa, the No. 1 ranked player in the country, is not expected to make a decision by the end of the early period. The 6-9 small forward, who is primarily looking at Alabama, BYU, Kansas State, and North Carolina, is aiming to commit sometime in December.
Several sources have told me the schools with the best chances of landing him are BYU or Alabama. I would still say BYU is the favorite as of today, but that gap is tightening. The Crimson Tide are a real contender.
For several months now, I’ve called Kansas State a “sleeper” in this recruitment. I’m watching the Wildcats very closely and certainly not counting them out.
While I have not heard much buzz around North Carolina, the Tar Heels are still in the mix and continue to pursue AJ. However, according to my sources, seeing him choose UNC would be a bit of surprise.
