This is NOT "in the drivers seat," or "favored," or "easy street."
It means simply that if a team wins the rest of the way, no one (other than their opponent for each of those games) needs to lose.
BYU still controls their own destiny. If BYU wins its next 5 (6?) games, they are national champions. If they win their next 2, they are in the CCG.
For that last one, there is only 1 other school in the B12 that can also say that.
EVERYONE ELSE needs BYU to win to have a shot. The DON'T control their destiny. BYU and colorado do.
EVERY team controls their own destiny before the season begins. That's the beauty of a playoff. Then, about half way through the season, the number of teams that "Control their own destiny" drops.
BYU needs NO ONE to lose to realize their goals except ASU Saturday, Houston in a week, and whoever else we play from there on out.
