Yes, people wanted an expanded playoff, but not to let in teams with weak schedules like you said.
In the case of FSU, it was clear why they didn’t get in, their QB got hurt and the committee was concerned they were not the same team in very crowded field.
FSU had the #36 SOS. Indian’s is over 100. This is not the same.
